[25th August 2026 – Hong Kong] BaseHall welcomes four new concepts to its line-up at Jardine House this August, bringing together new takes on familiar flavours from Hong Kong and across Asia. Moon Lok Chao Shan and Ying Hung Palace by Heroes Beer Co join as new physical counters inside BaseHall 02, while Mee Mee Shanghai and Kuro Kare, a new concept from the team behind SEVENS, expand BaseHall 02’s ghost kitchen offering with menus available for takeaway and delivery.
Together, the four arrivals span Chiu Chow comfort food and Shanghainese favourites to Japanese curry and udon, alongside the lively flavours of a Hong Kong dai pai dong.
Moon Lok Chao Shan (NEW)
A contemporary fast-casual concept by Buick Management Limited, Moon Lok Chao Shan brings the traditions of Chiu Chow cooking into an approachable everyday format. The youthful sister brand to Pak Loh Chiu Chow and a continuation of the Moon Lok Chiu Chow brand draws on more than six decades of culinary heritage, with its treasured 60-year-old master stock forming the foundation of the menu.
At BaseHall 02, the menu centres on Soyed Delicacies with Rice, with diners choosing between one and four soyed delicacies (HK$78-118), alongside a choice of rice, congee or noodles. The selection spans Chiu Chow favourites including soyed goose, beef shank, chicken thigh, pig’s ear, pork belly, egg and tofu, with the option to add the brand’s Mala Spicy Sauce for a more contemporary take on the traditional flavours.
Elsewhere, the menu includes Chiu Chow Style Congee with Dried Flat Fish and Minced Pork (HK$68), Chiu Chow Style Congee with Dried Scallop and Minced Pork (HK$68) and Signature Soy Sauce Fried Noodles (HK$68), alongside rice dishes such as Rice with Preserved Vegetables and Pork Belly (HK$88) and Rice with Satay Diced Beef (HK$128). Selected congee and noodle dishes can also be made into a combo, including one drink, one Chiu Chow soyed delicacy and a complimentary Chiu Chow small dish.
From 4pm daily, Moon Lok introduces a dedicated à la carte menu designed for sharing, with larger portions of its signature soyed specialities served alongside complimentary daily soup. Highlights include Soyed Sliced Goose Meat and Tofu (HK$198), Soyed Goose Meat with Bones and Tofu (HK$168), as well as sharing plates featuring soyed pig’s ear, pork belly with tofu (HK$138).
A selection of snacks and handcrafted specialty drinks completes the offering, bringing together heritage Chiu Chow flavours with a contemporary, casual dining format designed for Central’s everyday diners.
Mee Mee Shanghai (NEW)
Joining BaseHall 02 as a new ghost kitchen, Mee Mee Shanghai is a contemporary Shanghainese concept by Buick Management Limited that looks at the city’s food through a distinctly Hong Kong point of view. Inspired by the long relationship between Hong Kong and Shanghai – and the old-school Shanghainese restaurants and flavours that have become part of Hong Kong’s own dining culture – the concept brings together familiar dishes with contemporary touches and Hong Kong-inspired interpretations.
The menu is built around noodles, rice and freshly made wontons. Diners can choose between Pork Bone Soup or Sour & Spicy Soup, with noodles or rice noodles, paired with toppings including Chives & Pork Wontons (HK$60), Crab Roe & Shrimp Wontons (HK$65), Deep-Fried Pork Cutlet (HK$70) and Huadiao Drunken Chicken (HK$80).
Shanghai-style dan dan noodles offer a richer alternative, with combinations including Chives & Pork Dumplings Dan Dan Noodles (HK$70), Deep-Fried Pork Cutlet Dan Dan Noodles (HK$80).
Rice dishes include Shanghainese Black Vinegar Sweet & Sour Pork Rice (HK$80), a dish that plays on the crossover between Hong Kong and Shanghai flavours, alongside Mapo Tofu & Pork Rice (HK$75), Huadiao Drunken Chicken Rice (HK$85) and Scallion & Chicken Rice (HK$80). Snacks such as Pork & Vegetable Steamed Bun (HK$35), Spicy Smashed Cucumber (HK$35) and Cold Sesame Noodles with Shredded Chicken (HK$75) round out the menu.
Kuro Kare (NEW)
Kuro Kare (黑釜) is the newest concept from the team behind SEVENS, which first joined BaseHall 02 earlier this year with its modern approach to Hong Kong’s “this this rice” culture. Kuro Kare turns its attention to Japanese comfort food, specialising in deeply flavoured curry, grilled meats, udon and kamameshi.
At the centre of the concept is Kuro Kare’s signature black-gold curry, made by flame-roasting a proprietary blend of spices with eight fruits and vegetables before enriching the mixture with a 10-hour bone broth. The resulting curry is paired with smoky grilled meats and served with either Japanese pearl rice or udon.
Signature choices include the KURO Trinity Meat Curry with grilled chicken, beef and pork belly (HK$138) and KURO Trinity Beef Curry with ox tongue, grilled beef and slow-braised beef (HK$138). Other options include KURO Slow-Braised Beef Curry (HK$98), Thick-Cut Pork Belly Curry (HK$98), Charcoal-Grilled Chicken Curry (HK$88) and Grilled Duck Curry (HK$88).
Beyond curry, Kuro Kare serves Hokkaido Soup Curry Udon (HK$128) and Rich Tomato Soup Udon (HK$128), alongside a series of ultra-rich creamy maze-udon including Mentaiko Creamy Udon, KURO Curry Creamy Udon and Dandan Mince Soy Milk Creamy Udon (HK$98 each). The menu also introduces kamameshi, with Scallion & Duck Kamameshi (HK$98) and Premium Black Truffle & Mushroom with Grilled Beef Kamameshi (HK$138).
Ying Hung Palace by Heroes Beer Co (NEW)
Completing the new line-up is Ying Hung Palace (英雄酒家), a lively new physical counter conceived as Central’s dai pai dong. Built around the idea that the extraordinary can be found in the ordinary, Ying Hung Palace celebrates the everyday rituals of Hong Kong dining: cold beer, bubbling claypots, sizzling plates and dishes made for sharing around the table.
The food menu draws on familiar dai pai dong flavours. Three signature dishes: Fried Chicken Wing with Sichuan Chilli (HK$98), Grilled Pork Cheek Thai Style (HK$98) and Black Pepper Beef Finger Rib & Potato (HK$128) , were specially developed by Big JJ.
A brand new draft beer EXO (extraordinary ) Lager by Heroes is introduced for the first time at $68 for 2 glasses, alongside a Thermo Beer Tower that keeps your beer cold and carbonated at the same time. It even comes with an actual beer tap for an authentic experience. The drinks menu also features draft cocktails including C06-Libre (HK$98) with cola, lemon and rum, and Palace Spritz (HK$98) with Pu’er, lime and gin. Non-alcoholic options include Ribena Lemon No. 7 (HK$48) and Salted Plum Soda (HK$48).
With two new counters and two delivery-led concepts joining its existing roster, BaseHall 02 continues to bring together a broad mix of Hong Kong-grown brands and new ideas under one roof, championing the food and people that make one of the world’s greatest cities so unique.
