Led by French seasoned sommelier Romain Loriot, ThinkWine introduces a brand-new experience of wine and food pairings to the heart of SoHo in Hong Kong. ThinkWine is pleased to announce new happenings for the afternoons and evenings starting from September 2022 onwards.
Stocking close to 600 different wines with wines from the years of 1947 – 2021, the extensive
“Chateau to Table” wine menu at ThinkWine showcases a rare diversity of wine terroir, appellations and vintages rarely found in Hong Kong. ThinkWine takes great pride in its collection from the Burgundy, Rhone Valley and Loire Valley regions of France. ThinkWine invites guests to taste and experience wines from countries such as Australia, Italy, Spain and Germany; as well as from less-represented countries such as Lebanon, Morocco, South Africa, China, and more. ThinkWine now also carries Barolo and Barbaresco, the King and Queen of Italian wine. Historically the most important wine regions of Italy, both northern regions produce wines with Nebbiolo grapes.
NEW RESTAURANT TAKEOVER FROM SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, ThinkWine launched a successful series of pop-up events by some of Hong Kong’s most discerning restaurants such as 11 Westside, AwaAwa, Censu and more, where chefs showcased takeover-exclusive snacks to pair with ThinkWine’s exceptional selection of wines for one night at a time.
Each restaurant will pop up at ThinkWine from 6pm-10pm, serving 6 special snacks (ranging from HK$60 – HK$150 per snack) and a combo set to pair with ThinkWine’s specially curated selection of wines. The upcoming takeover schedule is as below:
Modern Italian restaurant Posso led by Chef Max Wong will continue the takeover series on Wednesday, 7th September serving creative cicchetti, followed by a vibrant exploration of East-meets-West dishes by Man Mo Dim Sum on Wednesday, 21stSeptember. Mexican cantina Chicano will round up the next series of takeovers on Wednesday, 5th October. The restaurant takeover series offer guests a fun new way to kick back and relax in a lively ambience, with the chance to socialise with fellow food and wine lovers.
NEW SATURDAY WINE BRUNCH TAKEOVER
Kicking off the next brunch takeover series will be sustainable seafood specialist Percy’s on Saturdays from 10th September – 29th October from 12pm – 3pm.
Led by Percy’s Executive Chef Braden Reardon, the pop-up brunch at ThinkWine will feature a progressive 5-course consisting of seafood dishes with a focus on responsibly sourced ingredients. The price of HK$298 per guest is inclusive of a valued combination of Fish Head Terrine with heirloom tomatoes and caper salsa verde, Chilled Pasta Salad with razor clam and calamari, Fried Oysters with coriander crema and nuoc cham, Dry Aged Prawn Chorizo in a Blanket with spicy mustard, and Swordfish Jamon Croque Madame with comté, bechamel, and Japanese fried egg. Add a glass of 2017 – Les Tours – Grenache Blanc – Emmanuel Reynaud for an additional HK$168, and a dessert of Goat Cheese with local organic fig semifreddo for an additional HK$60.
