    The Old Man Hong Kong, winner and #1 of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2019 and #10 on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2019, is popping up at the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok from 7thJune – 31st August, 2019. Led by The Old Man owners Agung Prabowo, James Tamang and Roman Ghale, The Old Man takes temporary residence in the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok’s sleek lobby to showcase award-winning cocktails to discerning guests of the hotel.

    The Old Man sweeps Ernest Hemingway fans and cocktail connoisseurs into a world tailored to the beautifully complex mind of the iconic writer. With a name, drinks menu and concept paying tribute to Hemingway’s Pulitzer Prize winning fictional work, The Old Man and the Sea, Agung and his team have concocted some truly inventive cocktails with an Asian touch. The cocktail menu delivers fascinating backgrounds on the various drinks, their ingredients, their histories and the characters – real and fictional – associated with them. Once a resident of The Oriental Hotel, Hemingway was known to appreciate awe-inspiring spaces and architecture that fuelled his literary work, much like the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.
