• The Diplomat by John Nugent unveils a revamped bar food menu

A dedicated speakeasy by John Nugent, The Diplomat introduces an enhanced bar experience of savoring brasserie-style snacks alongside reimagined cocktails. The latest PUB GRUB MENU can be enjoyed during The Diplomat’s latest opening hours, Mondays—Saturdays from 4pm—midnight.

The bar snacks infuse ingredients distinctive to various cities and their cuisines to recreate familiar and nostalgic flavors. Created to pair well with The Diplomat’s innovative cocktail offerings, the new pub grub menu additions showcase an exquisite marriage between food & beverages.

New additions to the pub grub menu include the simultaneously crisp and creamy Twice Baked Potato (HK$100), created with cheddar, crème fraiche, chives, and bacon bits; Steak Tartare (HK$120) like you’ve never had it, with shallots, capers, runny Japanese egg, and Parisian-style fried potatoes; and Chicken Sandwich a la Louisiane (HK$160), a homage to the traditional Southern sandwich during Carnival season, made with buttermilk chicken, red cabbage, sweet pickle, and Louisiana-style hot sauce. The showstopper of a dessert – and the perfect treat to accompany your night cap – is the new Hot Fudge Sundae (HK$65) featuring fresh brownies, homemade fudge, and silky pours of bourbon caramel.

Only at The Diplomat will one find a suckling pig version of the Cubano (HK$170), made with crispy-crackling suckling pig, cheddar cheese, mustard, and arugula. The best-selling The Diplomat Burger (HK$180) is a crowd favourite, available in limited quantities daily. The simple yet stunning burger comprises of a juicy quarter pounder patty, melting cheddar and sesame buns. Don’t miss out on Nugent’s Nuggets (HK$100), John’s favourite after-hours guilty pleasure made with free-range organic chicken and spicy dipping sauce. The ultimate comfort dish, Truffled Mac & Cheese (HK$90) features a potent combination of shaved black truffles, gruyere, and Swiss cheeses. Complement with a side of Pommes Frites (HK$90), truly the classiest fries in town made with Irish potatoes, Espelette pepper, yuzu mayo and house-made ketchup.
