• Tai On Coffee & Tea Shop brings its “Change for Continuity” philosophy to BaseHall 02, serving up nostalgic cha chaan teng soul with a modern edge

Originally established in Kowloon in 1969, Tai On Coffee & Tea Shop brings a nostalgic cha chaan teng-inspired concept to BaseHall 02, blending classic Hong Kong comfort food with a more contemporary presentation. The brand’s identity centres around preserving familiar local flavours while adapting them for modern dining habits, reflected in its motto, “Change for Continuity.”

The menu features a mix of Hong Kong-style rice dishes, baked rice, curries and Western café-inspired plates. Lunch highlights include Chicken Thigh in Signature Cream Sauce on Rice (HK$88), Scallion Oil Chicken Thigh with Two Fried Eggs on Rice (HK$88) served with sweet soy sauce, Beef Short Ribs in Hong Kong Style Curry Sauce on Rice (HK$88), and Prawn in Homemade XO Cream Sauce on Rice (HK$88).

The evening menu expands further with dishes such as Australian Niksan Wagyu M5 Picanha Steak with Fries and Vegetables (HK$228) and Hong Kong Style Roasted Half Chicken (HK$138). Both lunch and dinner sets are served with house cold brew teas including Lemon Da Hong Pao and Milky Oolong.
