• Providing “More Good Meals” to local communities in need

MORE GOOD, the Hong Kong food charity co-founded by Yardbird Executive Chef Matt Abergel in 2021, aims to provide nutritious and high-quality meals to communities in need. Having assisted many local NGO’s in their urgent fundraising and hot meal-procuring initiatives, MORE GOOD strives to tackle existing issues in society creatively, enlisting the help of its extensive network of chefs and volunteers. In 2022, MORE GOOD prepared and distributed 15,700+ meals, organized 90+ volunteering sessions, and supported 4 communities per week.

Following a successful two years of giving back with MORE GOOD including an extensive 10 month collaboration campaign with some of Hong Kong’s top chefs and restaurants, ANDŌ carries their partnership into 2024. As ambassador of the organisation, ANDŌ will work with Hong Kong’s top chefs, restaurants, and food enthusiasts to prepare, cook and distribute around 2000+ meal boxes in total to vulnerable groups. On one Sunday each month, ANDŌ’s team, led by Co-Owner / Executive Chef Agustin Balbi and a new collaborating partner, will craft a nutritious meal box menu featuring a rice or noodle dish, a main course and two types of vegetables, with 160-200 boxes being distributed to communities in need.

On Sundays between February and December 2024, ANDŌ’s meal box donation initiative with MORE GOOD will enlist the support of an impressive lineup of partners. This includes renowned establishments such as one MICHELIN-starred Roganic by Simon Rogan, newly opened modern Indian restaurant Leela by Chef Manav Tuli, two MICHELIN-starred Italian restaurant Octavium led by decorated Chef Umberto Bombana, edomae-style Sushi Fujimoto under the helm of Chef Kenichi Fujimoto, one MICHELIN-starred Cantonese institution Man Ho Restaurant at JW Marriott, and the Soho cult-favourite Bar Leone by Lorenzo Antinori.

Also joining the lineup are the city’s leading food critics, enthusiasts, and influencers. This includes Agnes Chee (@yanwei525), a renowned food columnist and author of Vanishing Flavours of Cantonese Cuisine, food columnist turned food influencer Caroline Li (@carolinesophiali), acclaimed food writer and cookbook author Susan Jung (@susanjungfood), food and travel blogger Gloria Chung (@foodandtravelhk), SCMP food and wine editor Charmaine Mok (@supercharz) and esteemed chef and culinary artist, Hilda Chan (@hildas.thyme).
