    BaseHall 02 Celebrates Homegrown Culinary Talents

    The ultimate foodie destination for lunch, happy hour, dinner, drinks and beyond, BaseHall 02 has brought the city’s favourite culinary institutions to the buzzing heart of Central.

     

    New key dine-in features of the venue include Central Counter Kiosks, an elevated counter dining and drinking experience where guests can enjoy lively front-row seats to the open kitchens. The perfect destination for a night out on the town, the counter kiosks are the place to be on any given Hong Kong evening.

     

    The second dine-in features of the venue include Dice Kiosks, that offers a more casual dining experience of the city’s most iconic local eateries, many of which are celebrated on the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau.

     

    Six Counter Kiosks include buzzing names such as Porker, the Japanese tonkatsu bar that specializes in juicy aged pork loin coated in panko and fried to a deep, golden-brown; Moyo, authentic Korean home-style bites; Mashi no Mashi, Japanese wagyu tsukemen expert with a cult following for its use of prized single-origin Ozaki wagyu; Cookie Vission, Hong Kong’s favourite daily-baked chunky cookies and doughnuts with creative seasonal flavours, and new exclusive desserts with soft serve ice-cream ; and Maru de Sankaku, seabream ramen specialist from Osaka that regularly sees lines snaking out of its shop on Aberdeen Street. Finally, Artifact is the 18-seater restaurant and speakeasy bar created new and exclusively for BaseHall 02, that serves a refined caviar-focused degustation menu along with an impressive beverage list that highlights rare brown spirits. The speakeasy bar will be opening this coming February 2023.

     

    BaseHall 02’s unrivalled line-up of six dice kiosks represent the city’s most beloved culinary institutions, with familiar names such as Kamcentre Roast Goose, a contender for the best roast goose in Hong Kong with all barbecued items roasted onsite at BaseHall 02 daily; MICHELIN recommended Ah Chun Shandong Dumplings, a popular Lai Chi Kok joint famed for its age-old family recipe for daily handmade dumplings crafted with love; and On Lee Noodle Shop from Shau Kei Wan, an iconic Hong Kong noodle shop offering up all the cha chaan teng classics from fish ball noodles to condensed milk toast.

     

    Other dice kiosks include MICHELIN recommended Hot and Meen, a new hot and fiery exploration into Sichuan cuisine by the founders of Chilli Fagara; MICHELIN recommended

    Chiu Chow Delicacies, an authentic and casual Chiu Chow restaurant from North Point serving up its famed sliced marinated goose using the prized lion-head geese with tofu and baby oyster omelette; and MICHELIN recommended Both Street, Taiwanese street food with a focus on limited daily handmade gua bao (stuffed bun) all the way from Yuen Long.

     

    Other features of BaseHall 02 include a dedicated Retail space for rotating homegrown brands, which will debut with Certa, the Hong Kong-based purveyor of artisanal Italian food and wine products. The expansive Event Space at BaseHall 02 is designed in collaboration with Test Kitchen, which presents a pop-up kitchen and dining area to provide local and international talents a platform to cook the food they love and share their stories with Hong Kong’s discerning gourmands. A brand new Supermarketwill also make its debut in Q2 of 2023.

     

    A Contemporary Space Designed for Flow & Rhythm

    With special attention paid to modern dining sensibilities, BaseHall 02 boasts unparalleled design by Dix Design Studio to promote a unique sense of flow and rhythm. The concept is inspired by the vernacular architecture and design of traditional gastronomic neighbourhoods across Asia. Featuring unique elements like handmade and fired custom Chinese tile work, Japanese hand-chiselled oak panels, and plush mohair upholstery.

     

    The space transforms from day to night into an energetic social hub for dinner, drinks and a myriad of late-night dining options where the cocktails and conversations flow until late. The in-demand venue will facilitate a variety of events such as parties, live music events, cooking classes, film  screenings, and DJ nights, BaseHall 02’s design prioritises flexibility and easy re-configuration to allow for endless uses of the space from group dining to private events.

     

    Sustainability is another focus for BaseHall 02, as seen in the design elements sourced with reduced carbon footprint in mind, low-consumption lighting, and upcycled design elements.  BaseHall 02 also uses a drinking water system by BELU, a fully carbon neutral company committed to reducing its environmental impact by offsetting all CO2 emissions.
