Chef Vicky Lau, the Chef and Owner of Two-MICHELIN-starred TATE Dining Room, has been appointed the newest Board Member at Hong Kong’s first food bank and registered charity, Feeding Hong Kong.
For her first project as a board member, Chef Vicky will tap into her network of Hong Kong’s finest chefs, dining establishments and corporate institutions to deliver an exclusive gourmet experience. The event will mark the 10th anniversary of Feeding Hong Kong since its inception in 2011 and celebrates 10 years of outstanding achievements – including millions of tummies fed and watered. All proceeds and donations will be made towards Feeding Hong Kong to aid in its continued mission to fight hunger.
“I decided to join the Feeding Hong Kong Board of Directors as I have always wanted to give back to our society. As Chefs, we are often too focused on the daily operation of our restaurant and sometimes we forget why we entered the industry in the first place, which is to feed people and also spread love through food,” says Chef Vicky Lau. “The second reason is because, as a Chef, I also want to learn more about managing food as a resource and educate others to drive changes in our society. Now more than ever, our community needs support. It is very exciting to be involving more industry people into thinking about food waste and acting to fight it. I hope to add my part to contribute to Feeding Hong Kong’s continuous growth and support of the community.”
