• Date by TATE has now opened its doors at Hollywood Road

    Designed with the modern epicurean in mind, the Date by TATE shop offers a gourmet selection of Gastronomy Box sets, desserts for gifting, and seasonal ready-to-eat takeaway creations by TATE Dining Room. Other items on offer include beautiful, handpicked homeware and daily lifestyle accessories to enhance the stay-at-home dining experience.

     

    From the gourmet offerings, Date by TATE unveils new ready-to-eat French pastries with a modern Chinese twist created in highly limited quantities per day by Che Vicky Lau and Head Pastry Chef Graf Kwok. The selection for winter season includes Sheung Wan Chocolate Brioche (HK$42), Almond Madeleine (HK$18) that is cooked in batches at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm daily, Apple Cider (HK$38) available either hot or cold, Tea Pudding, and Traveler’s Cake.

     

    For celebratory occasions, Date by TATE’s cake gifting options are endless – from pastry gift boxes and Ode to Ginkgo(HK$420 for 2-4 persons, HK$820 for 6-8), a cake made with Valrhona dark chocolate mousse, red date paste, Chinese almond chocolate sponge, crunchy Pralines, and chocolate glaze, to Ode to Shan Shui (HK$380 for 2-4 persons, HK$780 for 6-8), a cake made with Earl Grey mousse and sponge, Osmanthus goji berry jelly, crunchy rice, tea sable, and white glaze. The cakes require 2 days advanced order and is available for pick-up only.

     

    Other gourmet delights include the ever-popular Gastronomy Box (from HK$1,000) takeaway meal sets made with zero-waste packaging for an unforgettable private dining experience at home or at the office, Seasonal Gift Set for gifting to loved ones (e.g. festive hamper), and “DIY” Frozen Cookie Dough (HK$98) that can be thawed and baked at home with simple instructions.

     

    From the Homeware selection, carefully curated pieces available for purchase include BeCandle Scented Candle (~HK$200), local small-batch handmade candles created with high-quality vegetal wax, lead-free cotton wick and premium fragrance oil; Tea Selection (~HK$98) including hand-picked Chinese, Japanese, and Herb teas; Blue Leaves Silverware (~HK$200), French silverware inspired by nature; Kimono Accessories (~HK$500) including card holder, bag, and cushion handcrafted by Jyubei Sawaya, the 8th generation of the Kimono Master Family based in Kyoto since 1776; Lorenzi Milano Bamboo-ware (~HK$2,000) including truffle slicer, lighter, knife, and cheese grater made using the finest sustainable bamboo by Italian artisans; and Sugahara Glassware (~HK$250) such as premium handmade glasses, plates, and bowls made in Japan since 1961.

     

    A nod to Chef Vicky Lau’s former life as a graphic design artist, some of Date by TATE’s best-selling items include Customized Trench Kitchen Apron and eco-friendly Market Bag designed by Chef Vicky herself. She has also designed a selection of East-meets-West dinnerware such as ceramic plates and porcelain bowls, which will become available for purchase at Date by TATE in early 2021.
