Hong Kong’s premier food hall BaseHall 01 & 02 continues to expand its line-up this season with three new concepts, bringing a mix of Cantonese staples, Japanese convenience-led dining, and a delivery-first format into Central’s Jardine House. Now open, San Xi Lou and Temai offer dine-in and takeaway options, while SEVENS has launched from 20th April with a ghost kitchen concept centred around its Hong Kong local favourite “This This Rice.”
San Xi Lou (Now Open)
San Xi Lou (三希樓), known for its Sichuan cuisine and premium hot pot, brings a more casual format to BaseHall 02 with a focus on dim sum, rice, and noodles. The menu spans staples like har gow, siu mai and xiao long bao, alongside snacks such as cuttlefish cakes and mala-style bites. Rice and noodle dishes form the core of the offering, including steamed rice with pork patty or chicken with mushrooms, Sichuan dan dan noodles and Chongqing-style hot and sour noodles, alongside a richer mala chicken rice. Set meals (from HK$88) pair rice or noodles with dim sum and a drink, suited for quick, everyday dining.
TEMAI (Now Open)
TEMAI (天米) centres on hand-crafted onigiri, ranging from premium fillings like A4 Wagyu sukiyaki and snow crab to everyday options such as mentaiko salad and braised beef – alongside a selection of maki for a quick, convenient bite. The offering extends to balanced bento boxes (from HK$82), including customisable options and pre-set combinations like ginger pork shogayaki, fried chicken cutlet, and sous-vide chicken, with premium upgrades such as grilled unagi and miso black cod. Signature tamagoyaki, daily soups, and snacks like karaage and gyoza round out a menu designed for easy, wholesome dining.
The TEMAI Experience
Specifically designed with Central’s “on-the-go” crowd in mind, TEMAI strikes the perfect balance between speed, portability, and variety. Whether it’s a quick desk lunch or a nutritious post-gym refuel, TEMAI brings authentic Japanese soul to the urban landscape.

The rotating weekly menu pairs vegetables like okra with yuzu vinaigrette and pickled cucumber with kombu with heartier mains such as honey wasabi chicken, sautéed chicken with dried scallops, and coconut curry beef cheek. Set options (HK$58-82) offer flexible combinations of vegetables, mains and a base, rice (five-grain brown rice or soba) with optional upgrades to salads, sides, soups and herbal teas for a quick, customisable meal.
