• Hong Kong to host its first live event on 9 April showcasing the future of Chinese cuisine, uniting Rising Star Chefs from Asia and Canada

On 9 April 2026, the Chinese Restaurant Awards brings its New Wave Discovery Series to Hong Kong for a one-night-only showcase at Man Ho Chinese Restaurant. The event gathers Rising Star Chef awardees from Asia and Canada for a collaborative dinner celebrating the evolution of contemporary Chinese cuisine.

The lineup includes Chef Jayson Tang (Man Ho, Hong Kong), Chef Andersen Lee (Oncle Lee & Oncle Lee Kǎo, Montreal), and Chef Steven Che (Haisan, Vancouver). Each will present signature dishes shaped by their roots-spanning Hong Kong, Macau, Montreal, and Vancouver-using premium Hong Kong ingredients, Lee Kum Kee sauces, and Canadian seafood.

Founded in Canada in 2008, the Chinese Restaurant Awards is the world’s longest-running organisation dedicated to Chinese cuisine. This marks its first official live showcase in Asia, offering a rare platform where heritage and a new generation of chefs come together to define what’s next.
