    An Inside Look at Our Class: What to Expect

    The 90-minute tea appreciation class at Ming Pavilion’s garden-themed main dining room offers an introduction to Chinese tea culture, covering historical references, cultural significance, and craftsmanship of featured teas. Led by resident tea master Tiffany Chan, the interactive class includes brewing demonstrations, hands-on practice, tea tasting, and food pairings by Chef Jack Lam Yeung. Participants will receive a masterclass certificate, teas, and tea ware as souvenirs upon completion.

    As seasonality dictates the harvest of teas, the masterclass series will take place on the second Saturday of every month, with the first class set on 10th May. The series begins with Green Tea, followed by White Tea (14th June); Dancong Oolong Tea (12th July); Wuyi Rock Tea (9th August); Taiwan Oolong Tea (13th September); Black Tea (11th October); Raw Puer Tea (8th November) and Ripe Puer Tea (13th December).

The masterclass will highlight the renowned Longjing tea, known for its freshness and high quality, offering insights from cultivation to fermentation. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of terroirs, tea leaf handling, and brewing techniques, empowering them to become tea connoisseurs.

    Renowned resident tea master Tiffany Chan from Ming Pavilion will lead an interactive Chinese tea masterclass series, sharing her expertise in teas cultivated through exclusive dining events. Winner of the ‘Chinese Tea Culture Promotion Ambassador’ title at the MingXing Tea Specialists Competition, Chan’s mastery in tea artistry shines through her signature seasonal tea pairings. With a focus on sourcing exceptional varietals not found in common markets, Chan’s classes will showcase the best teas of the season, offering participants a unique and immersive tea experience.
