Channelling all the lively, frenetic energy of Vietnam’s bia hoi tradition of sipping fresh beers on busy street corners, Chôm Chôm has been a SoHo neighbourhood mainstay since opening in 2013. Now, over a decade on, the spirited, late-night corner stoop has been reinvigorated and its team returned refreshed and rejuvenated after almost a month-long trip across Vietnam. With new vibrant, flavour-forward cocktails, fresh bia hoi-style beer on tap and a tailored menu of satisfying, easy-to-enjoy Vietnamese street food-inspired dishes crafted by Head Chef Logan Hester, Chôm Chôm is set to bring all the frenetic, fast-paced energy of late-night Vietnam to life in the heart of SoHo.
Chôm Chôm brought with it a fresh, youthful energy that shaped the corner into one of the most lively in the city. From after work drinks to late night bites, Chôm Chôm was a catalyst for the birth of Hong Kong’s most spirited neighborhoods, with guests enjoying vibrant Vietnamese bites, fresh beer and carefully crafted cocktails as groups of friends, teammates and family spilled out into the streets.
Back in July, the neighbourhood mainstay closed its doors for a renovation and the team, led by Head Chef Logan Hester, too the end of summer months to travel across Vietnam together, rejuvenating their spirits and returning refreshed and ready to bring to life all that they experience within the four walls of the reimagined space. For Chef Logan “Our trip to Vietnam was gratifying – from tasting new flavours, watching how each vendor connects with their guests and gaining new experiences, the crew is now armed with new knowledge and ready for the next chapter.”
As the soul of SoHo returns, the Chôm Chôm team is gearing up for a grand reopening celebration, where friends, family and the neighbourhood can get a first-hand look at all the work that has been done over the summer. On 1 October (from 6pm until late), the riotous affair will take over the SoHo street corner with cocktails and Vietnamese bites spotlighting new dishes alongside old standbys pushed forwards that shine a light on Chef Logan’s favourite ingredients, flavours and preparation techniques found throughout the streets of Vietnam.
