<<13th December, 2018 – Hong Kong>> Room 309, the elusive cocktail den hidden away within the depths of The Pottinger Hong Kong, has transformed into a winter garden spectacle to celebrate the festive season. A 22-seater space accessible only via special key card, Room 309 is the brainchild of Tastings Group’s award-winning Executive Mixologist, Antonio Lai. This holiday season, Lai and his team invite guests to sip on new winter libations in the enchanted garden lodge of Room 309, a mystical setting inspired by the Black Forest in Germany.

Winter Cocktails: Monkey 47 Gin Specials

Under the expert guidance of Executive Mixologist Antonio Lai and Bar Manager Hungie Fong, guests will be treated to a menu of festive winter cocktails that evoke the warm feeling of Christmas. From now  – 12th January 2019, indulge in specials created with Monkey 47 gin to truly get into the holiday spirit. Start with a welcome drink of “Nice & Sloe”, something warm to sip nice and sloe-ly to whet the appetite and set the tone for festive cheer. The cocktail is created with Monkey 47 Sloe Gin, white wine, sweet spice tincture and other warm spices, finished with a garnish of mini Christmas wreath and faux berries.

“Fruit of the Spirit (HK$160) highlights the element of fruit in Monkey 47 with grapefruit, bergamot and a whisper of delicate lavender. The elegant cocktail boasts a garnish of grapefruit chips and a sprig of dried lavender. Foraged from deep within the forest is a dessert-like treat, a winter variation of the classic Clover Club cocktail entitled “The Winter Clover” (HK$160). Ingredients include Monkey 47 Gin, raspberry liqueur, raspberry purée, lemon juice, egg white, Bols White Crème de Cacao and soda water. The stunning cocktail is finished with red hibiscus powder shaped into snowflakes, blackberries and a single mint leaf.

Let your imagination run wild this Christmas at ROOM 309, an enchanted winter garden haven in the heart of The Pottinger Hong Kong.

    About ROOM 309

ROOM 309 is tucked away in a charming boutique hotel, on the third floor of The Pottinger Hong Kong. While not a speakeasy, entry is by invitation only. In this one-of-a-kind hotel room, expert resident bartenders whip up an array of personalised cocktails, making the experience an intimate affair for no more than 20 guests at a time. Can you imagine that?

Now hold it, and expand that thought — ROOM 309 could be a room where imagination blooms. Could this be where a writer from the 1960s spent months and months poring over hundreds and thousands of manuscripts for their novel, which has become a classic of today? Could this also be where an artist from the 1970s sat and painted picture after picture worthy of a handsome fortune? Could this also be where a celebrity couple from the 1980s that graced the silver screens have come to carry on their off-screen romance? Or, could it very well be, where bartenders from the 1990s once sat and pondered over the possibilities of turning their hopes and dreams into reality, in the form of a beautiful cocktail haven?

With endless possibilities behind these doors, come on in, and see for yourselves. Check-in at “The Reception” and tap your keycard on the wall to enter a realm where there is always room for cocktails… and imagination.
