    <26th October, 2018 – Hong Kong / Macau>> Michelin has announced the next round of its MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau Dining Series International Chef Showcase. Following the same four-hands collaboration format with some of the world’s finest Chefs, this round of International Chef Showcase will feature French Chef Fabrice Vulin from 2-Michelin-starred The Tasting Room in Macau and Roberto Cerea, from the 3-Michelin-starred Da Vittorio in Bergamo, Italy.

    Representing their respective restaurants, Chef Vulin (Tasting Room) and Roberto Cerea(Da Vittorio) will work together in creative harmony to present a special 9-course dinner tasting menu for discerning guests, paired with excellent wines handpicked by Robert Parker Wine Advocate. Their exquisite joint menu will only be showcased at The Tasting Room in the City of Dreams integrated resort from 9 – 10 November, 2018.

The dishes presented by Da Vittorio are the Cerea family’s old recipes that have been passed down to the second generation. For The Tasting Room, we have created complementing dishes that are a reflection of my classic culinary training roots, as well as new inspirations and techniques acquired along the way. At the end of the meal, expect a thrilling live presentation of the Cannoncini and Gioconda.” says Fabrice Vulin, Executive Chef of The Tasting Room.

    About Fabrice Vulin, Executive Chef of The Tasting Room

    There are few chefs that can boast a pedigree comparable to that of Fabrice Vulin. The Executive Chef at two-Michelin-starred The Tasting Room, Chef Fabrice is renowned for his classic yet contemporary take on French fine dining. Chef Fabrice has honed his craft in some of the world’s most hallowed kitchens, from France, Switzerland and Morocco to Hong Kong and Macau. He has built up an unrivalled network of produce suppliers and close friendships with pioneering culinary artisans – unique relationships that allow him to source the rarest ingredients. Chef Fabrice Vulin further enhanced his sparkling reputation over three-and-a-half years as Chef de Cuisine of two-Michelin-starred Caprice at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, before making the short hop to Macau to helm The Tasting Room in 2017. 

    Owners Bruna and Vittorio Cerea were young, in love and shared the same passion for food when they first opened “Da Vittorio” in Bergamo in 1966. Bergamo soon became an essential visit for lovers of haute cuisine, and the success of Da Vittorio also brought their first Michelin star (1978), which, matched by the wealth of accolades and glowing write ups by leading food critics from Italy and abroad, was doubled in 1996. In the second millennium, 2010 finally brought the highly sought-after, third Michelin star.

    About Chef Roberto Cerea, Executive Chef of Da Vittorio

    Chef Roberto works alongside his elder brother, Enrico, who possesses the same affliction: a passion for good food. Chef Roberto spent a valuable period of his life honing his knowledge through study and vigorous practice, taking part in workshops to perfect his technique and skills. His passion for “first courses” has led to a succession of mouth-watering recipes, whose roots are based in the finest traditions of Mediterranean cuisine.
