    <<31st March 2021 – Hong Kong>> A true pioneer of world-class specialty coffee, The Coffee Academïcs now introduces a series of weekly coffee workshops on Thursdays, available in Cantonese, English and private classes upon request.

    Each Thursday of the month will present a new workshop topic centred on the art of specialty coffee-making, from Brewing Skills (1st Thursday of the month) and Espresso & Milk (2nd & 4th Thursday of the month), to Cupping & Sensory (3rd Thursday of the month). Classes will be held at The Coffee Academïcs The Morrison Shop on 225 Wan Chai Road, and the full schedule line-up can be viewed online at: https://the-coffeeacademics.com/pages/workshop. All classes will be 90 minutes long and will be priced at HK$488 per guest.

    In keeping with its commitment to education, The Coffee Academïcs’ new coffee workshops and classes feature interactive courses that offer newfound appreciation for the skill and art of the barista profession.

    Espresso and Milk is a crash-course into the day of a barista, exposing secrets on the perfect way to pull shots and steam milk to create delicious and silky-smooth cappuccinos and café lattes. Sensory and Cupping offers an introduction on how coffee aficionados experience coffee, and guarantees the discovery of newfound flavours in coffee. From the nuances and varied description of coffee flavours to the taste and tactile experience of the coffee itself, the workshop follows a similar course to a wine class.

    Finally, the 1.5 hours Brewing Skills workshop covers a comprehensive introduction to the world of Specialty Coffee Filter Brewing. Participants are brought on a hands-on experience of tasting and brewing coffee using various pour-over methods such as the V60, Chemex and Aeropress. The class concludes with participants enjoying handcrafted pour-over coffee – the rewarding fruits of their labour.
