    <<13th October 2020 Hong Kong>> Hong Kong’s favourite health-conscious bakery, The Cakery introduces to its ever-growing range of offerings new vegan and gluten-free treats including dessert tarts, bread, and pastries. With all diets and lifestyles in mind, the new tarts and baked goods provide a delicious and guilt-free solution for everyday pastry cravings.

    “One of our aims at The Cakery is to give a sense of inclusion for all occasions, from savoring celebratory birthday treats to simply enjoying a piece of toast for breakfast. I hope the introduction of these everyday products means more people with dietary restrictions will be able to join in on many of life’s best traditions,” says The Cakery founder, Shirley Kwok.

     

    Introduction of New Vegan Tarts

    A classic French pastry that can be reinterpreted in myriad fun ways, tarts are wonderful desserts that can bring sweetness and cheer to any gloomy day. The Cakery has launched 4 new vegan tarts (a total of 6 flavours) at its outlets, each priced at HK$65 per piece. Whilst the traditional Crème Brulee is filled with cream and eggs, The Cakery’s version is just as exquisitely rich and creamy – but using dairy-free cream, almond milk, and vegan butter instead. The crunchy caramelized organic cane sugar surface gives way to a silky vegan custard below.

    Passion Fruit Mango Mousse features a passion fruit curd filling topped with fresh mango mousse, passion fruit puree, vegan butter and cacao butter, while the refreshed Lemon Tart boasts a new look with a swirling layer of dairy-free cream topped with lime zest. The crowd-pleasing Dark Chocolate Tart is a classic delight, with a rich and smooth chocolate filling and sprinkles of gold powder.

    Soon to launch this November at The Cakery outlets are Chocolate Peanut Butter, a chocolate tart topped with sumptuous homemade peanut butter mousse, and Pistachio Strawberry Puree, a pistachio curd tart with strawberry filling.

    Introducing New Vegan & Gluten-Free Bread and Vegan Croissants

    Brand new to The Cakery’s range of offerings is a selection of freshly baked vegan and gluten-free bread that comes in four flavors: Seeded (HK$55) with poppy seeds, white sesame, and flaxseeds, Cranberries & Pumpkin Seeds (HK$56), Walnut & Raisins (HK$56), and slices of traditional Sandwich Bread (HK$46).

    For lovers of pastry, The Cakery has perfected the vegan recipe for buttery and flaky croissant. Priced at HK$20 per regular Croissant and HK$22 per Chocolate Croissant, each croissant features crisp and delicate layers and a honeycomb center.
