<<21st February, 2017 – Hong Kong>> In an exciting new venture spearheaded by Group Executive Chef Uwe Opocensky, Beef & Liberty will join the Government Food Truck Scheme on Monday, 20 February. Having endured a vigorous and extensive screening process, Beef & Liberty was selected as one of 16 representatives to participate in the Government Food Truck Scheme. A high honor for the restaurant, the team put in months of hard work in preparation for this new challenge. Driven by the restaurant’s goal of creating memorable dining experiences for their guests, this initiative is the perfect way for guests to experience Beef & Liberty’s food in a fresh and exciting way. Bringing the restaurant’s delicious cuisine to the streets of Hong Kong, the team will showcase their culinary prowess through a range of creative, quality dishes.
Although the food truck scene is relatively new to Hong Kong, significant buzz has been generated around the Beef & Liberty Food Truck and the Hong Kong public is ready.
Beef & Liberty will finally put their new set of wheels to the test at the first location, Ocean Park. At this location from 20 February to 19 March, the food truck will be opened daily from 10am till 6pm. Chef Uwe Opocensky and his team have painstakingly selected items from the Beef & Liberty menu for service on the food truck and the restaurant’s signature Notorious P.I.G. Hamburger (HK$58) made the cut + the newly introduced sandwich, The Little Pecker Chicken Sandwich (HK$58). Prepared with Wicks Manor English slow-braised BBQ pork, crackling, spring onions and a green apple slaw, this burger is unrivaled in Hong Kong. Another tantalizing option on the menu is the Truck Hamburger (HK$68), a bacon and cheese Hamburger with grass-fed Scottish beef, Wicks Manor English bacon, cheddar cheese & tomato ketchup. Local foodies who visit the truck can also order the Padron Peppers (HK$28), Pork Crackling made from Wicks Manor Pork (HK$18) and Corn Cobbler (HK$28). Prepared with premium ingredients, the food from the truck will be fresh and mouthwateringly delicious.
There is nothing quite like devouring a scrumptious burger while enjoying the beautiful weather outside and Beef & Liberty will be the restaurant to bring this experience to you. Eye-catching and easy to find, the Beef & Liberty Food Truck will perfectly reflect the restaurant’s heritage and brand concept. Can’t make it out to Ocean Park the next two weeks? We love hamburgers more than anything else in the world…we know, we’re weird that way. Our love of ‘all things burger related’ inspired us to spend years researching what makes the perfect hamburger – meat-to- bun ratios, patty recipes, grind coarseness, Maillard reactions, and cheese meltability to name but a few. Our name originates in 18th century Britain where the leading members of London society gathered in beefsteak clubs to partake of great food, fine booze and entertaining company. The brilliantly named Sublime Society of Beefsteaks was the most famous of all the clubs and its motto was “Let beef and liberty be my reward”. We loved the line so much we took it as our name. Enjoy!
