<<18th May, 2017 – Hong Kong>> Riding on the success of its kick-off event with Lily & Bloom’s Executive Chef Chris Grare, the Chef vs. Pan Brunch Series continues! Much to the delight of local connoisseurs, the series will feature ever more mouthwatering collaborations between the city’s sexiest tapas bar, La Paloma, and some of Hong Kong’s favourite restaurants. Get your palates ready for a line-up of sensational collaborations that will take Hong Kong’s brunch experience to the next level. Partnering with La Paloma’s Executive Chef Jose Cotes in the restaurant’s open kitchen, the talented and creative chefs of Mercato, BiB n Hops, Pirata, Cocotte and The Optimist will prepare an inspiring and mind-blowing feast this summer. Priced at HK$348per person, guests are indulged with a series of truly international brunch experiences. For an additional HK$180, diners can pair their brunch delights with free flow wine from the chef’s region.
On 11 June, BiB n Hops’ Executive Chef Yong Soo Do will join Chef Cotes for the third installation of the Chef vs. Pan Brunch Series. Guests will enjoy dishes that combine the rich flavors of Spanish and Korean cuisines. In addition to a variety of delightful cold appetizers, brunch-goers can indulge in dishes like the Yuk Hoe, a Korean style steak tartare with soy truffle aioli, pear sorbet, parmesan crisp and pine nuts. Cooking away deliciously in La Paloma’s signature paella pan will be a Bib n Bap made of rice, beef bulgogi, chorizo, scallop, shrimp, perilla, mozzarella, seaweed, sesame and egg. For a sweet treat to round up your brunch experience, the Korean inspired Hotteokis a tantalizing rice wine pancake with smoked bacon, strawberries and maple syrup.
An exquisite union of Spanish and Italian flavors, brunch at La Paloma on 25 June will be an unique experience. Executive Chef Stefano Rossi of Pirata will indulge guests with tapas selections like the Vitello Tonnato and Sea Bass Carpaccio. His Asparagus Flan with Parmesan is a savoury delight while thePorcini Risotto prepared in La Paloma’s giant pan is a delicious treat unlike any other.
Known for being a slice of Paris in the heart of Noho, Cocotte is a chic and relaxed restaurant with divine eats. On 1st July, Cocotte’s Head Chef Petrous Moldovan will bring dishes inspired by French flavors to La Paloma for a delectable brunch.
Chef Alfredo Rodriguez of The Optimist is known for dishes that embody the best of Spanish cuisine. Together with Chef Cotes on 30 July, the two will impress guests with a brunch experience that boasts classic Spanish fare. Begin the meal with tapas like the Tuna Tataki with Ajo Blanco andEnsaladilla Rusa before indulging in mains that include the Clams Con Salsa Verde and Pincho Moruno. For an authentic taste of Spain, guests can stop by La Paloma’s giant paella pan for a serving or two of Fideua with Iberico Pork and Mushrooms.
Editor’s Note – Mark your calendars and reserve a table, as 28 May will mark the wonderful collaboration between Chef Anthony Burd from Mercato by Jean-Georges and Chef Cotes from La Paloma. Mouthwatering dishes include the Spicy Tuna Tartare with black olives, cucumbers, avocado and mint and the Lightly Fried Calamari in spicy tomato sauce with black olives and capers. Diners can also indulge in all-you-can-eat Roasted Porchetta from the restaurant’s oven and a Seafood Risotto from La Paloma’s signature paella pan.
