<<8th August, 2018 – Hong Kong>> Named for the distinctly olive color of its skin and shell, the Olive Ridley sea turtle is considered one of the smallest species of turtles. Yet, with the destruction of their various nesting sites around the world, Olive Ridleys are fast approaching extinction. With this harrowing revelation, one globetrotting entrepreneur coupled his love for craft beer with a mission to protect sea turtles –and the Olive Ridley Brewing Company was born.
At its beginning launch phase in Hong Kong and now available at a total of 19 restaurants, bars and liquor stores throughout the city (see below), craft beer enthusiasts will be clamoring for a taste of the independent brewing company’s small-batch artisan beers. Beer lovers can choose among 3 types of exclusive craft brews – Pacific Pilsner, Shell Shock IPA and Morjim Pale
Introducing Olive Ridley’s Craft Beers
The Pacific Pilsner is a crisp and refreshing pilsner inspired by New Zealand hops, a true summertime drink with a nose of crushed citrus and lingering notes of tropical fruit on the palate. The flavors are created by dry hopping Motueka and Hallertau Blanc – slightly malty with a touch of bitterness.
The Shell Shock IPA elegantly balances bitterness and malt with a slight sweetness. Smooth and easy to drink for any time of the year, this IPA hints at notes of grapefruit and citrus on the tongue with a zesty aroma that teases the nose.
Finally, the Morjim Pale Ale is a luxurious pale ale dry hopped with Citra and Cascade hops, giving off an intricate aroma of citrus and grapefruit that follows through to the palate.
Drink With a Conscious To Save Our Turtles
With a strong focus on protecting the turtles and the oceans they inhabit, Olive Ridley Brewing Co. was inspired by a particular Olive Ridley nesting site on Morjim Beach in northern Goa, India. There, the founders determined the importance of working closely with local communities to ensure the conservation of the sea turtles and their hatchlings. Olive Ridley has taken on local initiatives such as working closely with Hong Kong-based NGO Aquameridian (http://www.aquameridian.org/) to support its local conservation efforts and education programme to protect Green Sea Turtles in Hong Kong. To raise money for Aquameridian, Olive Ridley Brewing Co. will soon be setting aside 7,500 special glasses for serving the beer at its partnered outlets, which customers may choose to keep in return for a small donation.

About Olive Ridley Brewing Co.
We are a small independent brewing company based in Hong Kong. Our mission: to create the best beer using our own recipe and the highest quality natural ingredients to produce unique small-batch artisan beers. We do not have a brewery. Until we do, we will use the best breweries run by like-minded people.
Each year we will donate a portion of our profits which, through our turtle fund, will be used to preserve sea turtles and their environment.
