Special Exhibition by Nefianto Setiono at Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour

Tucked away in the basement of the Landmark, Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour is the place to receive a healthy prescription of G&T’s and other tasty libations– with a wide range available to cater to all ailments. From 14 March onwards, celebrated Indonesian wedding decorator and owner of Nefi Décor, Nefianto Setiono will be creating a visionary display at Dr. Fern’s based on the bar’s storied botanical flavour wheel. The wheel, which depicts all the flavour combinations available in a delectable gin cocktail, includes “Fruity & Floral / Junipery & Citrus / Sweet & Confectionary / Spicy & Savoury”.

Having launched his business only 20 years prior, Nefianto Setiono is one of the most sought-after inventive decorators in Indonesia, with an impressive clientele of socialites, celebrities and some of the country’s most powerful elites. His originality and unrivalled attention to detail has brought him into the public eye, capturing the hearts of many a bride and groom looking to capture the most intimate and memorable experience with loved ones. Now, guests will be able to experience Nefi’s remarkable and elegant artwork at Dr. Fern’s, right here in the heart of Hong Kong.

5 Limited-Edition Themed Cocktails at Mrs. Pound, Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour, and Foxglove

From 1 March to 30 March, 5 different limited-edition Art Basel cocktails (priced between HK$120-HK$150 each) will be available across the bars at Mrs. Pound, Foxglove and Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour.

At Mrs. Pound, the Rob Pruitt X Jimmy Choo (HK$120) cocktail pays simple homage to the collaboration between some of the greatest contemporary artists of our time, Rob Pruitt and global shoe designer giant, Jimmy Choo. Served in a delightful ceramic sampan glass, the cocktail itself is a soft shade of green and topped with white foam. For the final touch, a single edible wasabi caramelized basil leaf will be added as garnish, one of the subtle Asian elements of the cocktail.

Also offered at the bar at Mrs. Pound is the Van Gogh x Louis Vuitton (HK$120), an ode to the collaboration between the iconic post-impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh, and the world’s most revered luxury fashion house, Louis Vuitton. The cocktail is a creative reinvention of Van Gogh’s most famous art piece, “Sunflowers”. Served in a miniature flowerpot, the drink will feature an intriguing garnish of a small, chrysanthemum bouquet attached to a short straw.

At Dr. Fern’s, sip and savour the Zoetrope (HK$150), a truly eye-catching drink inspired by the traditional Chinese trotting horse lamps that were used to create illusions of animations back in the 4th century. Dr. Paul has also incorporated floral ice, flowers frozen within Dr. Fern’s signature crystal-clear long ice, into the highball-style drink to signify the blooming start of spring.

At Foxglove, guests will be drawn to the mesmerising red hues of Schizophrenia (HK$150), a snazzy cocktail inspired by the signature red lightning bolt on David Bowie’s hit album – Aladdin Sane. The mixologist uses three types of herbal liqueur, mixed with beetroot and apple juice to produce the eccentric colour. The Savoy Truffle (HK$150) is a touch more understated, with its smooth white colour inspired by The Beatles’ iconic album, The Beatles (white album). The drink is created with oolong-infused gin mixed with honey water, and a cloud of cream cheese foam. Enjoy with a side of truffled homemade beetroot chips, which balances well with the cocktail’s umami and tea flavours.
