    <<24th October, 2018 – Hong Kong>> KYTALY, the award-winning Geneva-based Italian restaurant co-owned by legendary pizza chef Franco Pepe and Alessandro Bortesi, has officially opened its doors on Wyndham Street, Hong Kong. Born from the perfect harmony between “Ki”, the Japanese symbol of life’s energy, and “Italy”, the cradle of Mediterranean culture, KYTALY has risen to the global stage for serving the best pizza in the world outside of Italy.

    To celebrate the grand opening of KYTALY, Franco Pepe himself will be flying into Hong Kong from Friday2 November – Saturday, 3 November with a special menu on showcase. Lucky pizza lovers will gain the exclusive chance to experience the KYTALY X Franco Pepe menu in Hong Kong—a menu with dishes showcased for the first time outside of Italy.

    Franco Pepe – Legendary Pizza Master & Co-owner

    Possibly the biggest name in pizza, Franco Pepe and his family of legendary bread-makers were the first to revolutionise the art of pizza making, choosing to create original recipes from scratch following the traditions and methods set out in his family. Working closely with his father, Franco Pepe learned everything there was to know from sourcing the freshest local ingredients to constructing the perfect dough and flour by hand over the past 25 years.

    Among the string of global recognitions and accolades received, Franco Pepe currently enjoys the #1 position for Top 50 Best Pizza in Italy 2018 (www.50toppizza.it). His notable pizza creations include the Margherita Sbagliata, which won the award for “The Best Pizza in the World” in 2016. On The Guardian’s experts guide on the best pizzas in the world, Franco Pepe’s establishment received the most nominations from the guide’s 1,077 contributors in 2016. Renowned food lover’s publication, The Phaidon, has also issued a “Where to Eat Pizza” guide written by Daniel Young, and crowned Franco Pepe’s pizzeria as the number one spot.

    KYTALY x Franco Pepe: An Exclusive Experience from 2-3 November

    Priced at HK$888+10% per guest, the special “KYTALY x Franco Pepe” menu is a compilation of the pizzaiolo’s finest signature creations over the years as well as new dishes that have never been introduced outside of Italy before. The first course, Franco Pepe’s award-winning Margherita Sbagliata, will set the scene for the meal to come. The Margherita “gone wrong” is famous for being Pepe’s favorite “mistake”, made with 100% buffalo mozzarella sourced from Caserta, Riccio tomato sauce and basil reduction. In Italy, it goes without saying that Franco Pepe’s pizza fritte are some of the finest in the country. One of the exclusive dishes, the simple yet delectable Pizza Fritte Ciro, is served as a cone with the cream of Grana Padana DOP 12-months-aged cheese, homemade pesto sauce and black olives from Caiazzo.
