<<6th September 2019 – Hong Kong>> La Rambla by Catalunya celebrates the turn of the season by announcing the highly anticipated re-opening of its 4,200 sq. ft. outdoor terrace. Situated against sweeping views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong’s iconic cityscape, the newly renovated terrace is the hottest social destination for sunset cocktails and light bites within a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.
New Cocktails by Group Beverage Director John Nugent
The revamped terrace will feature a menu of all-new cocktails by Group Beverage Director, John Nugent. With a string of impressive accolades and experiences in his stride, Nugent strives to bring the ultimate sensory cocktail experience to guests at La Rambla. Hailing from Seattle, Washington, Nugent rose in the American bar scene as not only an accomplished mixologist but as the hand-selected ambassador of distinguished spirit brands such as Tequila Ocho, Cynar, and most recently, Don Q. In Hong Kong, he led the award-winning beverage programme at Lily & Bloom, before becoming the prized addition to Leading Nation as the group’s head bartender.
Sit back and soak up the views, while sipping on delectable libations such as La Centrale, a tart and floral tequila-driven cocktail topped off with ginger beer; or a more classic option of Lion’s Tail, consisting of allspice, bourbon and citrus. The Sherry Cobbler is a fruity delight, featuring citrus, rich honey, floral cassis and fresh, seasonal berries. For gin lovers, the Clover Club is a guaranteed treat, with notes of raspberry, juniper and a splash of Fino sherry; or simply build your own gin cocktail from the special G&T cart, packed with gins from around the world along with a selection of fresh garnishes to choose from. All cocktails are priced at HK$120+10% each.
During happy hour from 3pm till 8pm on the terrace, guests can enjoy reduced happy hour prices on wines by the glass (from HK$65), beers on tap and by the bottle (from HK$65), jugs of sangria (from HK$450) and the Tanqueray Classic gin cocktail (HK$80). With every order of a jug of sangria during happy hour, guests will receive a complimentary sharing platter of Iberico ham and olives.
New happy hour bites by Executive Chef Ferran Tadeo
To celebrate the launch of the new terrace and happy hour, Executive Chef Ferran Tadeo has prepared a light bites menu for the perfect late-afternoon fix. On top of the usual Pica Pica consisting of Spanish happy hour staples such as Patatas Bravas (HK$120) and 5J 100% Bellota Jamon Iberico (HK$360), happy hour cocktails on the terrace will now include a complimentary serving of Montaditos, or Spanish-style sandwiches made with tomato bread. From 3pm-8pm on the terrace, tuck into a mouthwatering sandwich spread of El Boqueron (white anchovies), Ibericos (chorizo & salchichon), Tortilla de Patatas & Cebolla (Spanish omelette), La Chistorra y su Padron (sausages) and El Manchego (cheese).
In addition, happy hour-exclusive treats that are available to order include Bocadillo de Jamon (HK$90), a simple yet moreish baguette with Iberico ham and olive oil, and Wagyu Beef Brochetas (HK$180), or skewers of Josper-grilled melting wagyu.
