    <<1st March, 2018Hong Kong>> Timothy Oulton’s first restaurant venture Gough’s on Gough celebrates quintessential British craftsmanship and design, as well as modern British fare and libations. Following the recent launch of a new pre-theatre menu and Sunday Roast Brunch, Gough’s on Gough continues to draw inspiration from age-old British traditions with the introduction of British Cheese & Wine Nights.

    From Sunday to Wednesday every week, guests can now enjoy an exquisite selection of house or premium international wines paired with fine British cheeses. With the choice of 3 glasses of house (HK$168) or premium (HK$228) wine; or 5 glasses of house (HK$268) or premium (HK$328) wine, guests are presented with an extensive wine list with delectable cheese-pairing suggestions. From sparkling, white, rosé, and red; sweet wines as well as port & sherry, there’s a wine to match every mood and flavour, expertly paired by our sommelier Francois Ferrand.

    The cheese menu presents six varieties of artisanal British cheeses; each sourced from a different family-run farm in the UK. Served with walnut raisin bread and grandma’s onion jam, guests can mix and match 3 cheeses of their choice (HK$198) or simply go for tasting portions of all 6 varieties (HK$328). Kirkham’s Lancashire is the last farmhouse raw-milk Lancashire in the world, and made with the milk of the Kirkham family’s 40 Holstein Friesian cows. Renowned for its ‘buttery crumble’ texture and yoghurty, bright and layered flavour, this cheese is a true crowd-pleaser. For fans of a softer cheese, the Tunworth is a worthy choice for its camembert-style. Produced in Hampshire in the South of England it offers a papaery rind and a classic creamy paste. Flavours are nutty, vegetal and milky – long lasting and harmonious. For a taste of old British tradition, opt for the Colston Bassett Stilton, created in one of the smallest dairies in the UK near Nottingham. This pasteurized cow’s milk Stilton is made the traditional way with hand-ladled curd and animal rennet not found at any other Stilton maker. The flavour is earthy, lactic, and balanced by the richness of the blue mold and butter.
