    <<18th October, 2018 – Hong Kong>> Renowned Italian Chef Gianni Caprioli invites guests to experience his home country by way of 3 newly introduced Tasting Menus at GIANDO Italian Restaurant & Bar. A fresh way to experience authentic Italian fare using produce imported from Italy’s best small family farms, artisan producers and wineries, The Giando Experience now introduces seasonal tasting menus for everyone. Two of the menus feature 5- and 7-course variations of Chef Gianni’s favourite seasonal picks respectively, while the last 5-course menu caters to vegetarian and vegan guests.

    New 5- & 7-Course Giando Experience Tasting Menus

    The first 5-course menu, “The Giando Menu”, is priced at HK$788+10% per guest, and includes authentic Italian delights such as Burrata Come in Puglia, a creamy Burrata with eggplant & mixed fresh Italian tomatoes, Capesante al Guanciale Crema di Mais e Tartufo Nero or sea scallops wrapped with pork cheek, Italian clams and black truffles. The pièce de résistance, Tagliata di Wagyu N.9, is a beautiful sirloin served in the crowd-favourite steak and frites style.

    For those looking to indulge in a more diverse range of Giando’s best offerings, the 7-course menu, “The Chef’s Off Menu”, is priced at HK$988+10% per guest, and features two pastas, one fish and one meat dish. Start with the Carne Cruda di Fassona condiment Albese e Caviale, a decadent Fassona beef tartare with cold broth & caviar, and savour the rich flavours of Gianni’s Spaghetti ai Ricci di Mare, a Spaghetti “Aglio Olio” with fresh sea urchin and bottarga. One of the sure menu highlights is the Vitello da Latte Crosta al Pistacchio, Funghi Trifolati Passata di Mela e Salsa al Tartufo, the incredibly tender roasted milk-fed veal chop with pistachio crust, sautéed mushrooms, golden apple puree and truffle reduction. Dishes are subject to changes daily depending on what’s in season and the quality of produce received.

    New 5-Course Vegetarian Menu

    The special 5-course vegetarian menu, “The Vegetarian”, by Chef Gianni highlights the finest fruits and vegetables from the season’s harvest, appealing to even the staunchest of carnivores. The colourful menu begins with Ceviche d’Estate con Pomodori Cucurbitacee Marinate, a refreshing ceviche of marinated melon, cucumber and tomatoes with a light and tangy sauce. Another noted dish includes the Fusillone Monograno Burrata, Cacio, Pepe e Cipollotto, a delicious reinterpretation of the classic Roman “Cacio e Pepe” cheese and black pepper pasta dish, made instead with Fusilli, Burrata, Pecorino, black pepper and spring onions confit. The dessert is a harmonious trio of citrus flavours – using Amalfi Lemon, Japanese Yuzu and Mexican Lime for the crema, atop a citrus salad made of orange and pomelo, garnished with basil and toasted almonds.
