<<2nd October, 2019 – Hong Kong>> Asaya Kitchen, the newest dining concept by Rosewood Hong Kong, opens this late October on level six of the ultra-luxury hotel in the heart of the Victoria Dockside arts and design district. Situated on the same floor as Asaya Hong Kong, Rosewood’s new urban wellness concept set to launch in January 2020, Asaya Kitchen enjoys striking views of the harbour and will open from sunrise till late, serving wholesome, health-conscious fare that respects responsible sourcing from the sea, as well as careful cultivation of the soil.
Helmed by Chef Renaud Marin, formerly of Cochin and Upper Modern Bistro in Hong Kong, Asaya Kitchen champions artful Mediterranean and a healthy Japanese diet-inspired menu that focuses on seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers, fisheries and artisans, prepared in a light and clean style.
“With Asaya Kitchen, we hope to create a destination within Asaya Hong Kong where local diners, members, and hotel guests can enjoy eco-conscious dining that celebrates a sense of community around nourishing, sustainable dishes,” said Rosewood Hotel Group CEO Sonia Cheng.
With spacious interiors by award-winning designer Tony Chi of New York’s tonychi, who has created Asaya’s elegantly balanced and light-filled interiors, the restaurant’s restful aesthetic celebrates comfort, purity and relaxation while encompassing stylish natural elements. Designed to be a social space, the main dining area will feature an expansive open kitchen leading out to the dynamic poolside bar area with tables and lounge chairs overlooking the terrace that boasts stellar views over Victoria Harbour and Rosewood Hong Kong’s outdoor infinity pool.
Asaya Kitchen will showcase nutrient-rich dishes with a focus on cooking methods that maintain the unique properties of food. Plates are infused with raw, sprouted, pickled and fermented ingredients in the à la carte breakfast and lunch menus, while the dinner menu takes on a more detailed and elevated dining approach. The restaurant is committed to following a policy of zero waste. In keeping with the influence of the Mediterranean Diet, the wine list at Asaya Kitchen will feature an array of antioxidant-rich, organic and biodynamic wines and a cocktail list accenting finely-crafted cocktails minus the alcohol.
For an al fresco extension to Asaya Kitchen, the Poolside Bar will feature a broader selection of comfort food favourites, as well as an alcoholic cocktail list. The Poolside Bar menu is set to offer substantial plant-based substitutes for meat-lovers and vegans alike who wish to enjoy an authentic burger experience without the environmental hangover.
